The Colorado state Senate on Friday passed sweeping legislation targeting discrimination by companies using artificial intelligence.
Businesses would have to disclose to consumers the use of high-risk AI systems, conduct impact assessments, and use reasonable care to avoid discrimination under the measure (SB 205).
The bill is the latest from state legislatures targeting potential AI threats despite opposition from the tech industry as lawmakers in Congress, where deals on tech regulations have been elusive, are planning their own legislation.
