Angel Reese has shut down any and all discussion of “crazy and weird” salacious photos that surfaced of her online. According to the LSU Forward, the images are “AI-generated.”
“Creating fake AI pictures of me is crazy and weird AF!” Reese wrote on X. “Like I know I’m fine & seem to have an appeal to some but I’m literally 21 and yall doing this bs when I would neverrrrrr.”
Since the popularity of artificial intelligence has grown, many other celebrities have fallen victim to the same antics, whether through imagery or audio.
Last year, Nicki Minaj spoke out about an A.I. generated video titled Deep Fake Neighbour Wars that starred herself, Tom Holland, and Mark Zuckerberg. As entertaining as it may have been, the Queen rapper didn’t authorize her likeness. In the episode, Minaj is married to an A.I. Holland, and the newlywed couple has disputes with their A.I. neighbor, Mark Zuckerberg.
“HELP!!!” exclaimed the Pink Friday 2 icon on X. “What in the AI shapeshifting cloning conspiracy theory is this?!?!! I hope the whole internet get deleted!!!”
Cardi B was also targeted last year when someone made an A.I. generated audio and photo of her husband, Offset, allegedly “cheating” on her. The Bronx star threatened to sue whoever it was using technology to insinuate the heinous act.
The faux audio showcased Offset apparently trying to set up a meeting with a woman and also included a skeptical image of the Migos rapper. Yet, most viewers dismissed it immediately. An image also portrayed the “Worth It” star with a different body-type and hair, according to Complex.
“Offset has allegedly cheated on Cardi B once again. How embarrassing,” the post was captioned. It was immediately flagged for copyright infringement. Cardi B responded with a since-deleted X Voice note threatening a lawsuit on behalf of Set. One user recorded the audio.
“All these little games that you guys want to play online, it’s going to be over with,” Cardi said. “You’re going to be getting sued, and we’re going to make an example out of you. Yeah, and that was a terrible AI voice, by the way.”
