December is fast approaching, and so are numerous Xbox server closures that were previously announced throughout the year. In total, 13 games will soon lose online functionality (either in full or just partially), and to help you get a grip on what’s shutting down and when, we’ve rounded up all those server closure announcements into one handy article.
Upcoming Xbox server closures in November and December
The first upcoming server closure is for Bandai Namco’s Gundam Evolution on November 29. As the free-to-play multiplayer FPS is an online-only game, all 12 Gundam Evolution achievements will be discontinued.
Next up is Rocket League, and it’s not necessarily a server closure here but rather the shutdown of an online feature that will impact numerous Xbox achievements. On December 5, Psyonix is removing player-to-player trading from Rocket League, which, as it stands, will discontinue one achievement and make nine more much harder to unlock.
Courtesy of EA, there are multiple server closures taking place in early December. Battlefield 1943, Battlefield: Bad Company, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Mirror’s Edge, Mirrors Edge Catalyst, Crysis 3, Dead Space 2, and Dante’s Inferno will all lose online functionality on December 8. Out of all of these games, just Mirror’s Edge and Dead Space 2 do not feature any online Xbox achievements.
Finally, on December 31, servers will close for both Anvil: Vault Breaker and NBA 2K22. All achievements in Anvil: Vault Breaker will be discontinued once the server closure hits, whereas NBA 2K22 will lose 30 online achievements and NBA 2K22 (Xbox One) 39 online achievements.
As for server closures a bit further out, Ubisoft recently announced it was shutting down online services in three Xbox 360 games and the servers for Warface: Breakout are set to close in April.
